Learning Japanese is fun!!!

The title says it all!

I study east asian art history, and Japanese culture is a great part of the field.  It would be a great help to my research if I could read Japanese literatures.

The most challenging part in learning Japanese is to learn it through English which is my second language.  However, this is still very fun and rewarding!

  3. I'm not much of an art or history buff, but I really want to make it a goal of mine to read at least a chapter of the Tale of Genji since it had such an impact on the history of Japanese art and literature as well as Japanese culture in itself.

  4. That's cool! Columbia is a great place to learn about Japanese literature. We have such a wealth of books in the library in Kent Hall. Let me know if you find any Japanese novels you enjoy. I'm always up for a good read.
